What You'll Do

  • Actively contribute to specifications and designs that deliver on company objectives

  • Uncover technical constraints and break down work into iterations and tasks

  • Take ownership of your tasks and implement them in close collaboration with colleagues

  • Consider all aspects from data models to testing to performance, delivering scalable solutions

  • Bridge knowledge gaps between back-end and front-end for your colleagues

  • Deliver work in small iterations with regular feedback through code reviews

  • Collaborate with our field engineers and partners during implementation and onboarding of ships

  • Gain visibility into real-time system behavior and help improve it based on real-world use

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years professional experience with C# development

  • Experience developing databases in SQL and Azure

  • Demonstrated expertise with MQTT protocol implementation

  • Proficiency in Linux environments and command-line operations

  • Experience with containerization using Docker

  • Proven record of accomplishment implementing Azure Cloud solutions

  • Strong database skills with MSSQL and PostgreSQL

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Equivalent Industry Experience

  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • CI/CD pipeline experience (Azure/GitHub)

  • Computer networking knowledge (LAN/WAN/IP)

  • Experience with additional languages: Python, Go, NodeJS, C++, or Rust

  • Grafana and Prometheus monitoring

  • Interest in or experience with field implementation of technical systems

  • Affinity with maritime environments or industrial engineering 

While your main focus will be on back end development, we are always excited if you bring a bit of frontend flair to the table. Think dashboards, interfaces and data visualizations. These are all areas we will be exploring more as our platform continues to grow.

If you have experience with frameworks like React, Angular or Vue, or if you have created a sleek Power BI dashboard or two - that is a big plus. Not a requirement, but definitely a nice addition. We really value team members who enjoy connecting the logic behind the scenes with the experience on the screen.

Nice to have (Frontend-related)

  • Experience with frontend frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue

  • Familiarity with Power BI for creating dashboards and visual insights

  • A general interest in building user interfaces or data visualizations

  • Comfortable collaborating across the full stack

Valuable Industry Knowledge

  • HVAC systems for buildings and maritime solutions

  • Industrial protocols (BacNet, ModBus, Profibus)

  • Azure Certifications (AZ-303, AZ-220, AZ-204)

  • Time series database experience (TimeScale, ClickHouse)
